It should be impossible to read Spin in 2021. The URL should either redirect to an elegiac 404, or a tasteful archive of the magazine's glory years. No publication has been treated more viciously by the plundering agents who run the media industry; those psychos who seem uniquely obsessed with distressing the assets of every beloved legacy brand on the web before handing off the baton to the next specious consortium of VC suckers.
I think about this all the time vis-a-vis Forbes, which used to be, if not a "good" magazine, at least well known as an actual legitimate magazine that did booster-y coverage of business stuff, and is now, as near as I can tell, a literal blogging site where just about anyone can post whatever they want, and then spread around that they've been "published in Forbes". This gives them zombie cred despite the fact that the current version of Forbes has been like this for, what, 10 years? And I guess it'll keep working until everyone who vaugely remembers Forbes as a real magazine is dead.
